Halving is an event when the amount of payment for cryptocurrency mining is halved compared to what it was before. The first Bitcoin halving happened in 2012. Since it is impossible to mine more than 21 million Bitcoins, the last block will be added in 2140 after 64 halvings. Similar actions occur on other blockchain platforms, but with different timing algorithms.
