The Republican party is no doubt licking their wounds and lamenting that they ended up with a red ripple rather than a red tsunami. They need to look at their “leaders.” Every time I saw Rep. McCarthy telling voters that he was going to investigate Hunter’s laptop, among a myriad of other investigations, he should have been paying attention to what we the voters were concerned about. You know, little things like inflation, crime, the open border and high energy costs. Not once did I see or hear a potential voter say they wanted these superfluous investigations he was trying to push.
His compatriot, Sen. McConnell, wasn’t any more clued in. There was a senate candidate from New Hampshire, a retired Army Brigadier General who arguably had a good chance of defeating his Democrat incumbent opponent. But ol’ Mitch got his panties in a wad because the candidate said he would not support him as Senate Majority Leader if he was elected to the senate. So, ol’ Mitch took $6-9 million in campaign funds from him and steered them to Lisa Murkowski, the biggest RINO in the Republican party.
So McCarthy and McConnell need to look no further than the image in their bathroom mirrors to find out why the GOP underperformed.
