Billionaire entrepreneur and shark tank star Mark Cuban says he\u2019s heavily invested in two popular altcoins while waiting for the first viral crypto app to emerge.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n In a new interview with Crypto Banter, Cuban says that he owns \u201ca lot\u201d of Ethereum (ETH) and Polygon (MATIC) due to their strong use cases.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cBitcoin\u2019s a great store of value, but Ethereum and Polygon that I both own a lot of, you can start to see the utility.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n You\u2019re starting to see more and more applications pop up there, and we\u2019ll see what happens with ETH 2.0 in terms of gas fees, and I think Polygon has done a great job, and you\u2019ve got other blockchains trying to do the same thing.\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n Ethereum<\/a> is the leading smart contract platform, while Polygon<\/a> (MATIC) is a layer-2 scaling solution designed to enable the widescale adoption of decentralized apps (DApps) on the Ethereum blockchain.<\/span><\/p>\n The billionaire also says that he\u2019s on the lookout for the first-ever crypto-based application that will be a big hit for mainstream consumers.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cAll the blockchains are kind of in a death war, trying to get users and applications, and <\/span><\/i>I think whoever comes up with applications where just somebody walking down the street in Miami can say, \u2018Oh yeah, I use that,\u2019 just like Instagram. <\/span><\/i><\/p>\n At the beginning, what the hell is Instagram and then everybody got it. It went viral. We haven\u2019t gotten that first viral mainstream crypto-based application yet. We will. <\/span><\/i>That\u2019s what I\u2019m looking for in terms of investments.\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n
