The largest cryptocurrency has spent weeks bounding between upside and downside liquidity pockets without deciding whether bulls or bears will ultimately win.<\/p>\n<p>This struggle continues to play out with predictable regularity, and nothing \u2014 not macroeconomic data prints, institutional involvement or anything else \u2014 has been able to switch things up.<\/p>\n<p>With that in mind, it may not be all that problematic that the coming week offers little in terms of data-driven risk asset catalysts from the United States or Federal Reserve.<\/p>\n<p>Bitcoin on-chain data points to a re-accumulation phase among the investor base, possibly reflective of a \u201ccalm before the storm\u201d mentality before a more significant market move.<\/p>\n<p>Crypto market sentiment is \u201cneutral,\u201d according to the Crypto Fear &amp; Greed Index, which is now nonetheless at its lowest point for July so far.<\/p>\n<p>Cointelegraph takes a look at these factors and more to determine potential BTC price triggers for the coming days.<\/p>\n<h2>Bitcoin weekly close keeps volatility away<\/h2>\n<p>Bitcoin\u2019s weekly candle close refreshingly opted to dispense with volatility, data from <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/pro.cointelegraph.com\/?via=markets&amp;_ga=2.173325223.503936973.1685953699-1136475544.1627545224\" rel=\"noopener\">Cointelegraph Markets Pro<\/a> and <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tradingview.com\/symbols\/BTCUSD\/?exchange=BINANCE\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">TradingView<\/a> shows. <\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s3.cointelegraph.com\/uploads\/2023-07\/8b01d437-d70c-4cc7-91c2-2660ec8e5817.png\" \/><figcaption style=\"text-align: center\"><em>BTC\/USD 1-week chart. Source: TradingView<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>While normally a time of erratic short-term price moves, the close saw little disruption, with even $30,000 support remaining unchallenged.<\/p>\n<p>BTC\/USD thus continues within a narrow \u201cmini range\u201d in place since last week, when a fakeout to upside liquidity resulted in new yearly highs <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph.com\/news\/bitcoin-fakeout-repeats-btc-price-spikes-31k\" rel=\"noopener\">followed by a dramatic comedown<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think everyone can see this range with their eyes closed at this point,\u201d popular trader Daan Crypto Trades <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/DaanCrypto\/status\/1680823448400953345\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">summarized<\/a>. <\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cFor me it\u2019s pretty easy. Bulls have to retake $30.5K for me to consider closing the inefficiency from the dump. More ping pong, until breakout.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h2>Earnings season leads U.S. data releases<\/h2>\n<p>Those hoping for a macro-inspired risk asset shake-up may be left disappointed this week, with a lack of significant data due from the United States.<\/p>\n<p>The highlight comes in the form of tech firm earnings and jobless claims on July 20, but with a Fed decision on interest rate hikes still around two weeks away, volatility remains on the horizon.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEarnings season is now in full swing and the July Fed meeting is in focus. It\u2019s going to be a busy couple of weeks,\u201d financial commentary resource, The Kobeissi Letter wrote in part of a recent social media analysis.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Key Events This Week:<\/p>\n<p>1. Source: CME Group<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>An index to watch, meanwhile, is the U.S. Dollar Index (DXY), currently attempting to reclaim the 100 mark after dropping below it for the first time in more than a year.<\/p>\n<p>As Cointelegraph reported, Bitcoin previously exhibited a\u00a0<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph.com\/news\/bitcoin-btc-price-40k-dollar-dxy-last-time\" rel=\"noopener\">strong inverse correlation with DXY<\/a>, although this has waned considerably in 2023.<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s3.cointelegraph.com\/uploads\/2023-07\/cf5e9a57-e06d-4e25-90ba-94bf332f85f0.png\" alt=\"\" title=\"\" \/><figcaption style=\"text-align: center\"><em>U.S. Dollar Index 1-day chart. Source: TradingView<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2>Whales return to the game<\/h2>\n<p>Turning to on-chain data, a reawakening of Bitcoin whales is getting on-chain analytics platform CryptoQuant excited. <\/p>\n<p>As noted by contributing analyst SignalQuant, unspent transaction outputs (UTXOs) reflecting large tranches of coins are increasing this year \u2014 in classic bull market style.<\/p>\n<p>SignalQuant referenced the UTXO Value Bands metric, which shows whales gradually coming back to life in 2023 after a rapid retreat in the latter half of 2022.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFrom that view, as \u2018the whale group\u2019 increased with its price back in 2019, they are slowly increasing with its price in 2023 too,\u201d he wrote in one of CryptoQuant\u2019s <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/cryptoquant.com\/insights\/quicktake\/64b392cdd3b74754036b444e-1K-10K-UTXO-Value-Bands-are-slowly-waking-up\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Quicktake<\/a> blog posts on July 16. <\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cIf their indicators gradually increase, then we can be more confident that 1)its price at the end of 2022 is a long-term bottom, and 2) that its price will continue to rise.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s3.cointelegraph.com\/uploads\/2023-07\/9be8bab9-67ae-48e5-adfb-a735167a2803.png\" \/><figcaption style=\"text-align: center\"><em>Bitcoin whale UTXO data. Source: CryptoQuant<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Previously, Cointelegraph <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph.com\/news\/cpi-btc-supply-5-things-bitcoin-this-week\" rel=\"noopener\">reported on rebounding whale numbers<\/a> and\u00a0other larger investor cohort exposure at current prices.<\/p>\n<h2>Supply dynamics repeat early bull market signals<\/h2>\n<p>It is not just whale behavior on the radar of analysts at present when it comes to hidden bullish BTC price signals.<\/p>\n<p>The <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph.com\/news\/bitcoin-spending-metric-btc-price-bull-market\" rel=\"noopener\">latest on-chain data<\/a> shows that more of the BTC supply moved near $30,000 than at any other price point, reflecting a critical point of interest throughout the investor base.<\/p>\n<p>In total, the zone around $30,200 has seen a total of 3.8% of the total supply move, according to on-chain analytics platform Look Into Bitcoin.<\/p>\n<p>At the same time, older, long-dormant supply is coming back to life. This, Look Into Bitcoin creator Philip Swift argued last week, has been characteristic of the early innings of every Bitcoin bull market to date.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIncreased onchain spending volume showing where we are in the cycle right now. History doesn&#8217;t repeat but it often rhymes,\u201d he <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/PositiveCrypto\/status\/1679490385150894081\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">commented<\/a>.<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s3.cointelegraph.com\/uploads\/2023-07\/c4ac2e8c-6293-423b-acde-c436c2155da5.jpeg\" alt=\"\" title=\"\" \/><figcaption style=\"text-align: center\"><em>Bitcoin value days destroyed multiple chart.
