He is the author of the first-ever published book on Bitcoin in the world <em>Bank to the Future<\/em>, which was released in February 2012, and has splashed over $1 billion in cash investing in \u201cover 100\u201d different crypto companies, including Kraken, Ripple Labs and \u2014 err \u2014 Celsius.<\/p>\n<p>Dixon stumbled upon Bitcoin when he was \u201cdeep in debt\u201d after his ambitious attempt to start a traditional bank didn\u2019t go to plan. \u201cI failed at that task,\u201d he admits.<\/p>\n<p>Instead of throwing in the towel, Dixon eventually founded BnkToTheFuture, an online investment platform that crowdsources private equity funding, giving smaller-scale investors who can satisfy regulatory requirements in their own countries access to early-stage but risky tech VC-style opportunities, with Celsius, Kraken, Bitfinex and Securitize among them.<\/p>\n<p>In recent times, he has \u201caccidentally become the Chapter 11 guy\u201d as he seems to have psychic powers in predicting what crypto firm is going to go into Chapter 11 next.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cI was telling everyone that Celsius was going to go bankrupt before it went [bankrupt]. I was the one calling out Digital Currency Group as a company that\u2019s probably going to go bankrupt. I [predicted] that BlockFi [would] go into Chapter 11.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h2><strong>What led to Twitter fame?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Dixon built his 109,000 following organically and says he has \u201cnever really invested significant time into providing content for people.\u201d But he\u2019s been \u201cadvocating for Bitcoin since 2011,\u201d and his followers grew over the years through sharing content on \u201cbuilding and protecting your wealth using Bitcoin,\u201d and he says Bitcoin personally \u201ctransformed\u201d all his finances in life.<\/p>\n<p>In recent times, he has seen an influx of followers due to his advocacy for victims who have lost their savings in recent crypto exchange bankruptcies, especially those from Celsius.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cThis one was such a level of fraud that I couldn\u2019t keep quiet.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h2><strong>What to expect in his Twitter content<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>While Dixon continues to provide useful Bitcoin content for the crypto community, recently, he\u2019s been advocating for \u201cmore and more people in these Chapter 11 Bankruptcies.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI started sharing content on how you can optimize these bankruptcy proceedings to make the most for creditors, and that seemed to lead to a lot of people wanting to join me on Twitter Spaces.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Check out the shots fired at FTX through simple arts and craft work on a newspaper article.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\" \/>\n<p>He is often seen motivating those who are losing hope of ever getting their funds back from Celsius.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\" \/>\n<p>Dixon even managed to get Elon Musk on the infamous Twitter Space when he was \u201ccovering the FTX crash live\u201d as investors were suspending withdrawals.<\/p>\n<p>It was chaos, as Musk had \u201cjust completed the acquisition\u201d of Twitter, too.<\/p>\n<p>Dixon took advantage of the opportunity to ask Musk if \u201cthere was any place for Bitcoin on Twitter.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe was only meant to be there for 30 minutes. He actually stayed on the space for about an hour.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\" \/>\n<p>Oh yeah, and from time to time, he posts about his casual hangs with world leaders.<\/p>\n<p>Here is Dixon pictured hanging out with Salvadoran President Nayib Bukele.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\" \/>\n<h2>Twitter Likes<\/h2>\n<p>Dixon likes to follow people on Twitter who actually have a passion for crypto through the good and bad times, not those just trying to make a buck from shilling shitcoins.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m interested in people that have remained consistent to Bitcoin when it\u2019s not cool to be consistent to Bitcoin.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Dixon said that he is a big fan of the \u201cold school\u201d Andreas Antonopoulos, as he doesn\u2019t get as \u201cmuch credit as he deserves today.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He said that Antonopoulos did a lot of the hard work explaining Bitcoin in its early days, \u201cwhen it was very hard to explain to people.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"subscribe subscribe--inner\">\n<div class=\"container\">\n<div class=\"subscribe__inner\">\n<div class=\"subscribe__content\">\n<p>Subscribe<\/p>\n<p>The most engaging reads in blockchain. Delivered once a<br \/>\n        week.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"subscribe__img\">\n    <img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Subscribe to Magazine by Cointelegraph Newsletter.\" src=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph.com\/magazine\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/reading-copy.png\" \/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph.com\/magazine\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/reading-copy.png\" alt=\"Subscribe to Magazine by Cointelegraph Newsletter.\" \/>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h2><strong>Twitter Beefs<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong>Top Quality Beef: Alex Mashinsky<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Despite Dixon\u2019s high profile, he hasn\u2019t had a lot of public feuds.<\/p>\n<p>This isn\u2019t surprising considering he is a fairly nice and well-mannered dude.<\/p>\n<p>His one and only public beef is with the former CEO of the now-defunct crypto lending exchange Celsius, Alex Mashinsky.<\/p>\n<p>After the collapse of Celsius, Mashinsky was told by his lawyers that \u201che\u2019s not allowed to talk,\u201d according to Dixon.<\/p>\n<p>Dixon\u2019s commentary on the Celsius bankruptcy got on Mashinky\u2019s nerves so much that he decided to ignore his lawyer\u2019s advice and \u201cbroke his silence\u201d in order to blame Dixon for \u201call of this fraud.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Dixon said that Mashinsky \u201ccreated a conspiracy theory\u201d that Dixon has all of the creditor\u2019s money and that he is being paid by Sam Bankman-Fried (SBF) to try and \u201ctake down Celsius.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Dixon encouraged his Twitter followers to casually go and sue Mashinsky, saying it would be a \u201cvaluable\u201d asset to Celsius.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\" \/>\n<h2><strong>Future outlook<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Dixon isn\u2019t a fan of the Chapter 11 process, which he believes is \u201cscammy\u201d and just one \u201cginormous money grab\u201d to steal client money.<\/p>\n<p>While Dixon is a huge believer in Bitcoin, he doesn\u2019t have any set price predictions.
