This past November, Cruz pushed for adopting cryptocurrencies such as <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/news.google.com\/?post_type=post&amp;p=5736\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" class=\"sc-adb616fe-0 ePvUAp\"><span class=\"sc-48a5c6a5-4 eylCNa\">Bitcoin<\/span><\/a> as a form of payment within Capitol buildings through a similarly worded <\/span><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.congress.gov\/117\/bills\/sconres18\/BILLS-117sconres18is.pdf\" class=\"sc-adb616fe-0 ePvUAp\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight:400\">document<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight:400\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"font-meta-serif-pro font-normal text-lg sm:text-xl sm:leading-9 tracking-px text-body\"><span style=\"font-weight:400\">The changes were put forth in a so-called concurrent resolution, \u201cgenerally used to make or amend rules that apply to both houses,\u201d according to the Senate\u2019s <\/span><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.senate.gov\/legislative\/common\/briefing\/leg_laws_acts.htm\" class=\"sc-adb616fe-0 ePvUAp\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight:400\">website<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight:400\">. While it doesn\u2019t need the president\u2019s signature to take effect, the measure would still need to be approved by both the House and Senate.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"font-meta-serif-pro font-normal text-lg sm:text-xl sm:leading-9 tracking-px text-body\"><span style=\"font-weight:400\">Ted Cruz\u2019s move Wednesday follows the creation of the Subcommittee on Digital Assets, Financial Technology and Inclusion earlier this month. As a subsection of the House Financial Services Committee, one of its <\/span><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/financialservices.house.gov\/news\/documentsingle.aspx?DocumentID=408500\" class=\"sc-adb616fe-0 ePvUAp\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight:400\">main goals<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight:400\"> is to establish \u201cclear rules of the road among federal regulators.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"font-meta-serif-pro font-normal text-lg sm:text-xl sm:leading-9 tracking-px text-body\"><span style=\"font-weight:400\">When Congressman Patrick McHenry (R-NC) was appointed as chairman of the House Financial Services Committee last month, he <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/mchenry.house.gov\/news\/documentsingle.aspx?DocumentID=403366\" class=\"sc-adb616fe-0 ePvUAp\" rel=\"noopener\">stated<\/a> that developing a \u201ccomprehensive regulatory framework for the digital asset ecosystem\u201d would be a central focus of his.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"font-meta-serif-pro font-normal text-lg sm:text-xl sm:leading-9 tracking-px text-body\"><span style=\"font-weight:400\">Over time, Texas has become a hotbed of activity for mining cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, an industry that Cruz has largely embraced.
