This week\u2019s guest on the <\/span>Cardano NFT Column <\/b>is a project that is <\/span>building a Play To Earn ecosystem that takes inspiration from the famous Pok\u00e9mon, Yu-Gi-Oh! and Digimon<\/b>: <\/span>Yummi Universe<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n Last week\u2019s guest<\/span><\/a> was a <\/span>pixel art project that is among the first 10k NFT collections<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n This initiative is a point of reference for <\/span>NFTs on Cardano <\/b>and every week or two we will invite someone to answer some questions and give us <\/span>an update directly from within the Cardano community<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n Considering that many of our readers are new to the crypto space<\/span>, <\/b>we will have a <\/span>mix of simple and technical questions<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n Thanks for reaching out!<\/span> Yummi Universe started as a small project by founders David and Shannon<\/b>, who ran one of the <\/span>first stake pools on Cardano (ENACT)<\/b>. The founders have since gathered <\/span>a team of individuals who\u2019s been passionate about the project<\/b> ever since they discovered it.<\/span><\/p>\n Our team consists of <\/span>11 members from pretty much all around the world while our two founders are based in London<\/b>. We have <\/span>various backgrounds<\/b> such as graphic design, game development, web development, music composing, cybersecurity, business, entrepreneurship and computer science.<\/span><\/p>\n Yummi Universe aims to bring a <\/span>creature collection similar to Pok\u00e9mon, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Digimon and Moshi Monsters<\/b> to the realm of blockchain.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n We have successfully released <\/span>multiple collections of the adorable mascot, Naru<\/b>, and are actively working on developing a<\/span> full-blown ecosystem which utilises our existing NFTs<\/b>, as well as new tokens designed specifically to be in our upcoming <\/span>P2E game<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n Why we chose Cardano is because Cardano is awesome! <\/span>We believed in what Charles talked about & the power of decentralisation and a fairer system<\/b> (Specifically his <\/span>TED talk \u201c<\/span>The future will be decentralized<\/b>\u201c<\/span><\/a>). This is why we have been invested in Cardano since its release in 2017. When NFTs came out, <\/span>David contacted the co-founder (Shannon) and they brought the Hungry Naru brand to Cardano under the new name, Yummi Universe<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n Yes! We are developing a <\/span>trading card game<\/b>! We aim to create a card collection game with gameplay being a <\/span>mix of Pok\u00e9mon, Slay the Spire and Hearthstone<\/b>, centred around different<\/span> NFT cards and a Cardano native token<\/b>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Utilising the <\/span>$YUMMI token<\/b>, players will be able to <\/span>collect card packs<\/b> to assemble their decks! To obtain new cards, you must <\/span>open packs purchasable with $YUMMI tokens<\/b> in the store, each available for a limited timeframe. Once a new pack gets released or a set period of time has passed, the previous pack will be discontinued and only available through <\/span>secondary markets<\/b>, making the supply capped and deflationary as people open them over time.<\/span><\/p>\n The game will consist of different ways to enjoy playing, such as<\/span> Adventure mode and Player vs. Player tournaments<\/b>. Creating the perfect deck to<\/span> battle opponents <\/b>will be key to ensuring victory!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The game will be a <\/span>Play-to-Earn<\/b> model but it is also going to be<\/span> Free-to-Play!<\/b> Meaning, you will not need to own Yummi Universe NFTs to begin playing the game. <\/span>We want as many people as possible to be able to enjoy our game and join the community<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n Games have always<\/span> rewarded players with various progressions and items.<\/b> Blockchain technology makes it possible to <\/span>give players full custody over their earned assets<\/b>. In that sense, we don\u2019t see much inherent difference between blockchain-gaming and traditional gaming, but we acknowledge that it has led to<\/span> new kinds of ecosystems<\/b> that are being classified as Play-to-Earn.<\/span><\/p>\n Right now we are busy making a <\/span>new paper and building a new website<\/b>, meanwhile working on <\/span>game development<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n We have two different games in scope, while currently focusing our development on one at a time. <\/span>We would like to see this game fully released within a year<\/b>, while also having the other game well into development.<\/span><\/p>\n I<\/span>n 5 years time we would like to have released multiple titles<\/b>, but Yummi Universe isn\u2019t simply a gaming company. We have always been focused on making a positive impact as a <\/span>brand focused on health, mental awareness and happiness<\/b>. And with that, we want to reach a larger audience while expanding the monster-collecting franchise into new mediums such as <\/span>manga and TV<\/b>, while also exploring ways to <\/span>decentralise our platform<\/b> in various ways.<\/span><\/p>\n We encourage users to drop by our <\/span>Discord<\/span><\/a>.
