TRINITY \u2014 The Trinity Bullogs used a big half to post a 45-21 win over Forbush on Friday night.<\/p>\n

Despite the 24-point defeat, the Falcons (0-2) held a one-point halftime lead at 21-20 behind touchdown runs from Bryson Taylor and Andrew Hutchens.<\/p>\n

Taylor, who finished 8-of-16 passing for 47 yards, hooked up with Regan Ramey on a 21-yard touchdown pass. The sophomore signal caller also led Forbush on the ground with 71 yards on 15 carries.<\/p>\n

However, Forbush, which was tied 14-14 after one, couldn\u2019t maintain the halftime advantage as Trinity (2-0) outscored the visiting Falcons by 25 points in the second half.<\/p>\n

In addition to Taylor, Ramey finished with 13 carries for 67 yards to go along with the receiving touchdown; he also had a pair of catches for 23 yards. McKinley Reavis finished with a team-high three receptions for 16 yards.<\/p>\n

Defensively, Cristofer Martinez and Erin Dowd each recovered a fumble while Andrew Hutchens forced a fumble.<\/p>\n

Five Falcons, including Ramey, led the defense with five tackles apiece \u2014 Dowd, Ethan Pipes (four solo), Nick Myers and Andres Pelagio were the others. Hutchens finished with four tackles.<\/p>\n

Forbush now focus its attention to the 24th edition of the Unifi Bowl on Friday night when it travels to Starmount.<\/p>\n

In the renewal of the Yadkin County rivalry last year (after not holding the game in 2020), the Falcons were victorious, 21-6.<\/p>\n

Dating back to the 2016 season, the two Yadkin County rivals have met five times with Forbush winning three of them. After losing nine-straight to the Rams, the Falcons were victorious, 27-7, in 2016 and won 28-18 in the 2018 edition.<\/p>\n

The Rams captured the Unifi Bowl trophy in 2017 (20-0) and 2019 (35-29).<\/p>\n

Going back to 2004, Starmount leads the series 11-6.<\/p>\n

The Bulldogs will look to remain undefeated when they host East Davidson on Friday night.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
