{"id":24772,"date":"2022-08-03T01:14:16","date_gmt":"2022-08-03T01:14:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/egrowonline.com\/?p=24772"},"modified":"2022-08-03T01:14:16","modified_gmt":"2022-08-03T01:14:16","slug":"zipmex-gradually-resuming-z-wallet-withdrawals-says-debt-moratorium-is-not-bankruptcy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/egrowonline.com\/?p=24772","title":{"rendered":"Zipmex gradually resuming Z Wallet withdrawals, says debt moratorium is not bankruptcy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<br \/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/images.cointelegraph.com\/images\/840_aHR0cHM6Ly9zMy5jb2ludGVsZWdyYXBoLmNvbS91cGxvYWRzLzIwMjItMDgvZmIzYzcwMzYtZjQzZC00ZTFiLTg5NjgtYzE0ZWNiOGNiY2YxLmpwZw==.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<div data-v-28d77a7a=\"\">\n<p>Crypto exchange Zipmex, which operates in Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore and Australia, released a statement this week denying reports that it has filed for bankruptcy and announcing its progress in resuming withdrawals from its Z Wallets.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Zipmex customers can withdraw Solana (<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph.com\/solana-price-index\" rel=\"noopener\">SOL<\/a>) from their wallets Tuesday and will be able to withdraw <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph.com\/xrp-price-index\" data-amp=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph-com.cdn.ampproject.org\/c\/s\/cointelegraph.com\/xrp-price-index\" rel=\"noopener\">XRP<\/a> on Thursday and Cardano (<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph.com\/ada-price-index\" rel=\"noopener\">ADA<\/a>) on August 9, the company <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/zipmex.com\/au\/announcements\/official-statement-au-010822\/\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">said<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Zipmex provides its customers with two wallets: the Z Wallet, used for Zipmex services and receipt of earnings and bonuses, and the Trade Wallet, where fiat currency and funds for trading are held. Zipmex <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph.com\/news\/breaking-zipmex-suspends-withdrawals-as-ceo-denies-financial-trouble-rumors\" data-amp=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph-com.cdn.ampproject.org\/c\/s\/cointelegraph.com\/news\/breaking-zipmex-suspends-withdrawals-as-ceo-denies-financial-trouble-rumors\/amp\" rel=\"noopener\">paused all withdrawals from its platform<\/a>\u00a0on July 20 but <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph.com\/news\/zipmex-resumes-withdrawals-for-trade-wallets\" data-amp=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph-com.cdn.ampproject.org\/c\/s\/cointelegraph.com\/news\/zipmex-resumes-withdrawals-for-trade-wallets\/amp\" rel=\"noopener\">resumed withdrawals from Trade Wallets<\/a> two days later. The company <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph.com\/news\/crypto-contagion-deters-investors-in-near-term-but-fundamentals-stay-strong\" data-amp=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph-com.cdn.ampproject.org\/c\/s\/cointelegraph.com\/news\/crypto-contagion-deters-investors-in-near-term-but-fundamentals-stay-strong\/amp\" rel=\"noopener\">cited its exposure to Babel Finance<\/a> and Celsius defaults as necessitating the wallet freeze. Zipmex promised customers that it would \u201cstart to release some of these tokens [BTC, ETH and stablecoins] into your Trade Wallet starting in the middle of August.\u201d <\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Related: <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph.com\/news\/thai-sec-launches-digital-hotline-for-zipmex-users\" data-amp=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph-com.cdn.ampproject.org\/c\/s\/cointelegraph.com\/news\/thai-sec-launches-digital-hotline-for-zipmex-users\/amp\" rel=\"noopener\">Thai SEC launches digital hotline for Zipmex users<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Zipmex also took the opportunity to clarify its recent legal actions, informing the public that it\u00a0<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph.com\/news\/after-weeks-of-rumors-thai-crypto-exchange-zipmex-files-for-bankruptcy-in-singapore\" data-amp=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph-com.cdn.ampproject.org\/c\/s\/cointelegraph.com\/news\/after-weeks-of-rumors-thai-crypto-exchange-zipmex-files-for-bankruptcy-in-singapore\/amp\" rel=\"noopener\">filed an application for a moratorium<\/a> on debt in Singapore. As part of that process, Zipmex creditors will be able to file documents with the court through Aug. 5, with Zipmex Singapore submitting its documents a week later so the court can begin deliberating on the moratorium on Aug. 15.  <\/p>\n<p>Zipmex added that it was working with Babel Finance on the return of Zipmex\u2019s funds. It had also signed a \u201cMemorandum Of Agreement (MOU) with two investors\u201d and received an additional investment from a current shareholder.
