French cryptocurrency hardware wallet manufacturer Ledger has added support for 100 more native tokens on the Cardano ($ADA) network, allowing users to buy, send, and receive these tokens on Ledger Live, the application for managing cryptoassets on Ledger devices.<\/p>\n
Paris-headquartered\u00a0Ledger\u00a0was co-founded in 2014 by\u00a0Eric Larchev\u00eaque, Nicolas Bacca, Joel Pobeda, and Thomas France.\u00a0It first announced it was\u00a0moving to support ADA back in April<\/a>\u00a0of this year.<\/p>\n According to Ledger\u2019s announcement, tokens that are now supported include Aada DAO Token, CLAP, DogeADA, DANA, Cardano Gold, ADAX, MILK, MEOW, MELD, and Minswap\u2019s native token.<\/p>\n The French hardware wallet manufacturer added that there are \u201cmany more Cardano tokens,\u201d but that it decided on the first 100 to support based on a number of factors including the number of blockchain transactions in a specific period. The firm noted the selection was \u201cmade without any bias, based and on-chain data.\u201d<\/p>\n The announcement noted that native tokens on the Cardano blockchain \u201ccan be handled in the same way as Cardano\u2019s currency, ADA, and enjoy all the benefits of its speed, security, and low transaction costs.\u201d The firm noted that contrary to networks where user-defined tokens are non-native, Cardano\u2019s approach removes a layer of complexity while reducing manual errors and transaction fees.<\/p>\n –><\/p>\n –><\/p>\n To manage their ADA and Cardano native assets via Ledger\u2019s devices, users must create an ADA account but don\u2019t need to create an additional wallet. They can also buy the cryptocurrency directly through the applications. The French cryptocurrency hardware wallet manufacturer\u2019s support delighted the Cardano community when it was first announced, with the integration\u2019s rollout being applauded as well.<\/p>\n As CryptoGlobe reported, Cardano\u2019s Vasil hard fork, which is expected to deliver a \u201cmassive\u201d performance improvement to the cryptocurrency\u2019s network, was\u00a0delayed by \u201ca few more weeks.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n The Vasil hard fork will involve four Cardano Improvement Proposals (CIPs). Investors have nevertheless been betting on it, with data from Coinbase\u2019s price pages showing that users of the Nasdaq-listed cryptocurrency exchange\u00a0have a typical ADA hold time of 153 days<\/a>, meaning that Cardano traders on the platform hold onto their assets for that long before \u201cselling it or sending it to another account or address.\u201d<\/p>\n According to the cryptocurrency exchange, a long hold time \u201csignals an accumulation trend,\u201d while a short hold time \u201cindicates increased movement of tokens.\u201d<\/p>\n Earlier this month, a panel of cryptocurrency industry experts predicted that the\u00a0price of Cardano will explode to $2.93 by 2025<\/a>, and to $6.53 by 2030, although experts believe that by the end of the year, the cryptocurrency will trade at just $0.63.<\/p>\n Featured image via\u00a0Unsplash<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
