The team behind \u00a0Pavia<\/a>\u00a0($PAVIA), an exciting metaverse project built on the Cardano platform, said today that it is currently testing a new map user interface, which is something that land owners seem to be eagerly waiting for.<\/p>\n

Where Does the Pavia Name Come From?<\/h2>\n

As you may know, the Cardano blockchain was named after\u00a0Gerolamo Cardano<\/a>\u00a0(1501\u20131576), who was \u201can Italian polymath, whose interests and proficiencies ranged through those of mathematician, physician, biologist, physicist, chemist, astrologer, astronomer, philosopher, writer, and gambler.\u201d<\/p>\n

He was \u201cone of the most influential mathematicians of the Renaissance, and was one of the key figures in the foundation of probability and the earliest introducer of the binomial coefficients and the binomial theorem in the Western world.\u201d He was born on the 24th of September, 1501 in\u00a0Pavia, which is in the Lombardy region of Italy.<\/p>\n

This is why the people behind this Cardano-powered metaverse chose the name \u201cPavia\u201d.<\/p>\n

Pavia Land Parcels<\/h2>\n

Each land parcel is \u201ca uniquely numbered Cardano NFT (CNFT) based on coordinates within Pavia.io.\u201d There are 100,000 land parcels in total in the Pavia metaverse.<\/p>\n

The first 60,000 of these were sold in Q4 2021: 29,000 pacels in land sale #1 and 31,000 parcels in land sale #2. UK and U.S. rersidents were excluded from participation in these sales due to \u201cregulatory uncertainty\u201d. A final land sale will take place in Q1 2022.<\/p>\n

Earlier today, the Pavia team sent out a tweet that suggested that users would soon be enjoying a new map UI.<\/p>\n

On Monday (July 25), the Pavia asked users for suggestions for enhancements they would like to see in Pavia\u2019s metaverse builder tool: <\/p>\n
