One of the co-founders of meme cryptocurrency Dogecoin <\/strong><\/a>DOGE\/USD<\/span> took to Twitter Inc <\/strong>TWTR<\/span> in another effort to say he has no idea what the future price of the cryptocurrency will be.<\/p>\n What Happened: <\/strong>Dogecoin co-founder Billy Markus<\/strong> shared <\/a>a screenshot of a news story from FXstreet. The title of the article said\u00a0“Dogecoin founder Billy Markus believes DOGE will never\u00a0hit $0.74 again,” referencing the all-time high price of the cryptocurrency.<\/p>\n The story, which references a tweet from Markus, later uses the phrase \u201cmay never\u201d referencing a return to all-time highs.<\/p>\n \u201cThis is why you can\u2019t trust the news. Context is stripped, headlines don\u2019t match content, and overall there\u2019s hack jobs all over,\u201d Markus tweeted.<\/p>\n Markus\u2019s quote <\/a>was \u201cmight never see it again.\u201d In the tweet, Markus referenced 2021 being a \u201cweird f***ing year\u201d with Dogecoin \u201cswept up in the dystopia.\u201d<\/p>\n Taking things a step further, Markus suggested <\/a>a potential headline for a story that ultimately ended up quoted in this Benzinga story.<\/p>\n \u201cIf an article was intellectually honest about the tweet it was reporting on, the headline would read \u2018Billy Markus has no f***ing clue what Dogecoin will be worth in the future and doesn\u2019t think anyone does.\u2019\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n Related Link: 5 Things You Might Not Know About Dogecoin Co-Creator Billy Markus\u00a0<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n Why It\u2019s Important:<\/strong> Markus, who has more than\u00a01.7 million followers <\/a>on Twitter, tweets about cryptocurrency, memes and random thoughts.<\/p>\n The Dogecoin co-founder does not share financial advice or make price predictions for the meme coin he helped create.
