{"id":20878,"date":"2022-06-24T21:00:45","date_gmt":"2022-06-24T21:00:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/egrowonline.com\/?p=20878"},"modified":"2022-06-24T21:00:45","modified_gmt":"2022-06-24T21:00:45","slug":"85-of-big-retailers-accept-crypto-as-payment","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/egrowonline.com\/?p=20878","title":{"rendered":"85% of Big Retailers Accept Crypto as Payment"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div id=\"pymnts-content1335791\">\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Merchants and consumers have had enough experience with cryptocurrencies that they understand the advantages they offer as a payment method.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Forty-six percent of merchants currently accept cryptocurrency as a form of payment, according to \u201cPaying with Cryptocurrency,\u201d a PYMNTS and BitPay collaboration based on a survey of 2,334 consumers and 202 merchants with annual online sales of at least $250 million.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><strong>Get the report:<\/strong> <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pymnts.com\/study\/paying-with-cryptocurrency-shopping-consumer-finance-digital-wallets\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Paying with Cryptocurrency<\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Big retailers are especially likely to accept crypto as a form of payment, as 85% of businesses with more than $1 billion in annual online sales say they accept some form of crypto-enabled payment method.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Among smaller merchants \u2014 those with $250 million to $1 billion in annual online sales \u2014 just 23% accept crypto for purchases.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">The type of crypto payment that most merchants accept for in-store purchases is non-crypto-native digital wallets that enable crypto transactions, such as PayPal or Venmo. Ninety-four percent of customers are able to use cryptocurrency to pay for in-store purchases in that way.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">The other types of crypto payments that merchants accept for in-store purchases include cryptocurrency wallets, gift cards purchased from websites that accept cryptocurrency and cryptocurrency debit or prepaid cards.
