Cardano is lower by 8.50% over the past month amid a broader cryptocurrency market pullback.<\/p>\n<p class=\"core-block\">Dogecoin is\u00a0meanwhile lower by 0.74% at $0.062 at the time of publication and is trading lower by roughly 27.96% over the past month.<\/p>\n<p class=\"core-block\">A flashback from the 2021 crypto trading frenzy &#8211;<strong class=\"core-block\"> Elon\u00a0Musk<\/strong><strong class=\"core-block\"> <\/strong>caused a stir in the markets last year when he <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.benzinga.com\/markets\/cryptocurrency\/21\/05\/21098323\/elon-musk-says-tesla-looking-at-other-cryptos-who-use-less-than-1-of-bitcoins-energy-which\" class=\"core-block\" rel=\"noopener\">tweeted<\/a> that <strong class=\"core-block\">Tesla Inc<\/strong> <span class=\"ticker\" data-ticker=\"TSLA\" data-exchange=\"NASDAQ\">TSLA<\/span> won\u2019t begin accepting <strong class=\"core-block\">Bitcoin<\/strong> <span class=\"ticker\" data-ticker=\"BTC\/USD\" data-exchange=\"CRYPTO\">BTC\/USD<\/span> until it increases its use of renewable energy.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"core-block\">For the uninitiated, Cardano is a proof-of-stake<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.benzinga.com\/money\/proof-of-stake-vs-proof-of-work\/\" class=\"core-block\" rel=\"noopener\"> <\/a>blockchain in contrast to Bitcoin and Ethereum <span class=\"ticker\" data-ticker=\"ETH\/USD\" data-exchange=\"CRYPTO\">ETH\/USD<\/span>, which both use a <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.benzinga.com\/money\/proof-of-stake-vs-proof-of-work\/\" class=\"core-block\" rel=\"noopener\">proof-of-work<\/a> protocol.
