The Ekiti State Governor, Kayode Fayemi, said on Sunday there are five genuine presidential aspirants in the All Progressives Congress (APC).<\/p>\n
At least 28 aspirants including Fayemi, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo <\/a>and the APC National Leader, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, are vying for the party\u2019s presidential ticket at next weekend\u2019s primary in Abuja.<\/p>\n The governor, who stated this when he met the party\u2019s delegates in Minna, described the rest of the aspirants as \u201cpretenders.\u201d<\/p>\n He said: \u201cNow you are able to separate the pretenders from the contenders going by the number of aspirants traveling to states to seek the votes of delegates.<\/p>\n READ ALSO: 2023: Nigeria\u2019s presidency not for moneybags \u2013 Fayemi<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cI hear there is a list of twenty-something presidential aspirants but only about five of us are going round the states speaking to delegates.\u201d<\/p>\n Fayemi said he decided to visit Niger State for a meeting with the delegates despite his personal relationship with Governor Abubakar Bello because they were the ones in charge and would determine the aspirants\u2019 fate at the primary.<\/p>\n \u201cI am not here with any sense of entitlement.
