{"id":17057,"date":"2022-05-17T13:38:25","date_gmt":"2022-05-17T13:38:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/egrowonline.com\/?p=17057"},"modified":"2022-05-17T13:38:25","modified_gmt":"2022-05-17T13:38:25","slug":"aero-contractors-addresses-liquidation-plan-amid-aviation-industry-struggle","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/egrowonline.com\/?p=17057","title":{"rendered":"Aero Contractors addresses liquidation plan amid aviation industry struggle"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div id=\"mvp-content-main\">\n<p>Aero Contractors has denied reports that the airline operator is planning to cut down its workforce and shutdown business operation, stating that the claims are \u201cwild and unfounded.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The allegation was made by National Union of Air Transport Employees (NUATE) and the Air Transport Senior Staff Services Association of Nigeria (ATSSAN) during a press conference on Monday.<\/p>\n<p><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ripplesnigeria.com\/three-investors-in-talks-with-amcon-to-acquire-aero-contractors\/\" rel=\"noopener\">Aero Contractors<\/a> said the two unions are always in a haste to compromise confidential information to the public, explaining that the current challenges in the aviation industry is what\u2019s affecting its business, not a plan to liquidate.<\/p>\n<p>According to the statement released on Monday, Aero Contractors said, \u201cIt is in this regard that we are at a loss why the staff, knowing the challenges airlines are facing in the current operating environment are always in a haste to compromise confidential information to the public and make it an issue of discussion.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Recall that the airline operators in Nigeria had weighed option of shutting down their businesses early this month over rising cost of aviation fuel, known as Jet A1, which rose from N190 per litre to N700.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Read also :<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ripplesnigeria.com\/more-airlines-may-shut-down-soon-aero-contractors-ceo-mahmood-says\/\" rel=\"noopener\">More airlines may shut-down soon \u2014Aero Contractors\u2019 CEO, Mahmood, says<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The company further explained that, \u201cWe are conscious of the challenges we are facing and have been prudent with our expenses, and doing our best to take care of staff welfare.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe current management decided to create the four strategic business units (SBUs): maintenance repair overhaul (MRO), aviation training organisation (ATO), airline operation and rotary wing, to enhance efficiency and profitability.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s no Nigerian carrier without debt overhang caused by the operating environment.
