Last week, <\/i>WW <\/i>scrutinized the unlikely candidacy of Carrick Flynn for Oregon\u2019s new congressional seat<\/i><\/a>. Flynn, 35, is mostly unknown to residents of his district\u2014but they\u2019ve been blanketed by TV commercials and mailers for Flynn funded by cryptocurrency billionaire Sam Bankman-Fried. Flynn has introduced himself to few people outside of those ads. <\/i>WW examined his candidacy, and obtained 25 minutes of his time for an interview. He\u2019s the kind of Democrat who will help maintain the balance of power in D.C. by losing the election.\u201d<\/p>\n Michael M, via <\/b>wweek.com<\/b><\/a>:<\/b> \u201cThis guy aggressively avoids the media for months, leaving the public with no choice but to make inferences based on the millions he\u2019s getting from a few individuals from outside Oregon. <\/p>\n \u201cNow he whines about being \u2018misunderstood.\u2019 \u201cHe has in no way demonstrated he is (1) qualified to serve Oregonians in D.C. or (2) trustworthy. A lack of transparency, for me, clearly makes a candidate unworthy of my vote\u2014and my trust. Not that WW<\/i> is even distributed across the district in question. They are saying, without any evidence to back it up, that he will be subservient to his funder. All this money, and he doesn\u2019t seem to have had even the most basic messaging training. Which means he just doesn\u2019t care as much as he insists. \u2018I don\u2019t like campaign finance\u2019\u2014that\u2019s like saying, \u201cI don\u2019t like environmental.\u201d It just doesn\u2019t have even a rhetorical meaning. Taking big money, fine, it\u2019s a long tradition enjoyed by both sides. But to not even dial in a platform?
