In the past couple of years, the company has been adding 200 million from a\u00a0released amount to circulation and locking back in escrow 800 million, or sometimes 900 million.<\/p>\n<p>The remaining XRP is sent to numerous Ripple customers\u2014banks, custodial platforms\u00a0and other financial institutions, as well as to exchanges in order to back the coin&#8217;s liquidity.<\/p>\n<p>The fiat equivalent of the billion XRP transferred today is more than $810 million.<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"XRPescrowRipple_009dfghjktreww34567\" data-entity-type=\"file\" data-entity-uuid=\"6493934c-b54d-4e3e-9833-93d4e2609e3a\" src=\"https:\/\/u.today\/sites\/default\/files\/inline-images\/BillionXRP_escrow_009876fghjkl.png\" \/><figcaption><em>Image via <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/whale_alert\">Twitter<\/a><\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2 id=\"h31\">412 million shoveled by exchanges and anon wallet<\/h2>\n<p>Aside from that, the aforementioned crypto tracker reported that several big crypto trading\u00a0venues and anon wallets had moved a whopping 411.9 million XRP tokens between each other.<\/p>\n<p>The wallets tagged as &#8220;unknown&#8221;\u00a0by WA turned out to also be exchanges and custodial wallets, according to XRP-focused data aggregator Bithomp.<\/p>\n<p>The majority of the transactions\u00a0were conducted by the\u00a0<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/u.today\/3472-million-xrp-shifted-by-ripple-ftx-and-other-top-tier-exchanges\" rel=\"noopener\">FTX, Bitstamp<\/a> and Bittrex exchanges.
